In my experience as a Business Psychologist and Human Resource Consultant, the answer is yes, you most certainly do need to maintain a clean record and must repeatedly pass psychological evaluations. For example, in my work with Energy companies (e.g., nuclear power), government organizations, and other highly regulated industries, extensive background checks are completed before I can even be allowed to enter company buildings, and are then conducted periodically thereafter. Similarly, before I can work with Human Resource and management consulting firms, I often have to complete a series of psychological assessments that evaluate my personality characteristics, intelligence and problem-solving abilities, etc.
